It is indeed a matter of pride and privilege to be the Founder Convener of the Parents' Committee of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Indore. While shouldering this responsibility for almost a decade, I had great opportunity to learn about education and its complexities.

Parents' Committee was formed to fulfill the requirement of PTA specified by CBSE but with an objective slightly more than the popular perception.

I am happy to see that Parents' Committee is not only acting as a communication link between parents, teachers  and management but also involves in educating parents on good parenting & sharing some of the management responsibilities too.

Education is one subject where perception and views of individuals can be poles apart about Do's and Dont's. Interaction sessions between parents of specific age groups of students and the school management where concerned teachers are also present, being arranged twice a year for each group, has proved to be a great source of understanding and appreciation for the parents on `Why' and `How' of the philosophy and the principles of the school, likewise school management has been benefited in charting its future course based on feedback received from such meetings.

The only thing I wish is that if  there were more parents who could actively participate,I am  sure that Parents' Committee can definitely contribute more.

                  A few words from Chairman, Parents Committee

     At Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar parents work very closely with the school
     administration and management for the development & betterment of the
     school and in turn for their own future i.e. future of their children.

    Parents Committee regularly meets, thinks, discusses and makes its
    recommendations to the management on problems of students, problems
    of parents, suggestions for betterment & suggestions for futuristic
    development.

     There  are also regular activities eg.  periodical Parents' meetings,
     assistance in arrangement of dining hall, annual events of the school
     & students' visit to industries. Committee publishes monthly news letter
     under its parents guidance programmee.

    Committee would like to take up many more activities e.g. Do it Yourself
    Workshops,  Summer Vacation Camps, Career/Higher Education
    counseling etc. etc. for which more active parents are needed.

    I seek your contribution in existing and proposed activities of the
    committee in any form  and to any extent you can. Please do get in
